NICKY BUTT & THE FA CUP VISIT SHAWE VIEW IN 1996
The reason for the visit in August 1996 was that the BBC decided to follow the winning team from the Preliminary Round of the FA Cup through to the final. Manchester United had just won the FA Cup so the BBC decided to start with Trafford being only four miles from Old Trafford. Alas Trafford lost against Clitheroe so the BBC followed them into the next round & so on.The programme was shown on Match of the Day before the FA Cup Final.

URMSTON CC XI 178-
Sunday 4th September 2005
An excellent afternoon with our hosts at Urmston Cricket Club. Trafford’s top scorer was Dave Law with 44 runs as well as performing well as our wicketkeeper. Three players Andy Lundy, Dave Law & Danny Johnson hit a six a piece. Catch of the day came from Graham Foxall when his second catch of the afternoon was a full length dive right on the boundary. I’ve been instructed to mention . . . . Manager Danny Johnson bowled 11 overs, 2 maidens, 40 runs & 2 wickets !!
